Must Do's at Disneyland

- Get a mint julip from the mint julip bar in New Orleans Square, near the Haunted House

-Get stuck in Space Mountain and have the lights turned on and get escorted out.

-Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters ride: You ride in a little car and shoot at targets with your blasters. It's all good fun, set to the theme of Buzz Lightyear. Here are some tips to maximize your score, aim for the triangle targets, they are worth the most. Here is a breakdown of the targets.

  • Round: 100 points
  • Square: 1,000 points
  • Diamond: 5,000 points
  • Triangle: 10,000 points

-Throw a coin in the wishing well on the front-right side of Cinderella's castle.

-Locate the exact center of Disneyland marked by a golden spike just past the entrance of Cinderella's castle.

-Go on the Jungle Cruise during the evening when the little kids are gone and the boat drivers commentary gets more humorous.

-Trash Can Trio!" Wandering around Tomorrowland, there are three Janitors (one quite the senior of the other two) and they use their trashcans as drums.  These guys were great, and perfectly timed with each other. And not only did they just play the cans but they had choreography as well.

Fun Disneyland Facts

1. There is a functional apartment above the Firehouse on Main Street. It was where Walt and his family stayed, particularly in the early days of the Park's development. The apartment is still used on a limited basis for special guests.

2. Club 33 is the only place in Disneyland where Alcohol is served. If anybody can help we out with a hook-up to eat here it would be super sweet.

3. If you walked all of the loops of the queue, you would walk about 1/2 a mile just to enter for the Indiana Jones ride.

4.If you ask a Cast Member on the dock of the Mark Twain (nicely), you will get to go up to the wheel house, drive the Mark Twain, sign the guestbook, and blow the whistle.

5. Every plant in Tommorowland is edible! That is one of the most interesting things I have heard about Disneyland.

6. The gas lamps on Main Street are 150 years old, purchased as scrap from the city of Baltimore, Maryland.

Disneyland Discounts & Freebies

We all know that a trip to Disneyland can be expensive, so maximizing your enjoyment of your vacation time is the smart thing to do! Who wants to spend the whole time standing in line or overpaying for a trinket. Some money/time saving ideas.

1. 1/2 Priced Season Ticket. Right now you can go to Disneyland for free on your birthday. You can enter on your birthday for free then get yourself upgraded to a season pass. Usually on when you buy a season pass when you are in the park you get that day's admission applied to the season pass. Your free birthday admission counts as well. Lowering the season ticket price to about $69 on your birthday. About 1/2 price and about the full price of one day's admission to Disneyland. My dad did this on his birthday on 4-12-09.

2. Selected eateries, resturants and shops have a AAA membership discount. Goofy's Kitchen at the Disneyland Hotel, which is a buffet character dining experience, it is pricey but an extra 10% off will sure help. Save 10% on food and beverage purchases and dine with Disney Characters at Plaza Inn in Disneyland.

3. Try not to go to Disneyland during the weekends or the middle of July. The smaller the crowds the more fun you will be able to have.

4. Always take advantage of the Fast Pass. On the most popular rides you can get a Fast Pass as soon as possible. Possibly saving you hours. Though there is a limit to how many Fast Passes you can have at once.

5. Early Entry - This is for Disneyland hotel/resort guests and those who have multi-day Bonus Tickets. The Early Entry program allows you to enter Disneyland one hour before official opening on certain days of the week. Early Entry guests get access to Fantasyland attractions, including the Matterhorn, and occasionally other attractions are opened early as well. This is particularly valuable if you have little children who will want to ride Dumbo, the Tea Cups, etc.

6. Single Rider Line - If you don't mind separating from the rest of your party, ask if the attraction offers a singe rider line. The Cast Members loading ride vehicles draw from the Single Rider line to fill in empty seats, this line is much shorter and often moves much faster than the regular line. Many of the more popular attractions have this. e.g. Indiana Jones, Space Mountain.

7.  You can get a free drip coffe refill on Main Street.  This can be very useful if you are staying at Disneyland until closing.  Just keep your recipt  and present it again and they will give you a new cup of coffee.  You do not need to haul around your old cup all day long.  i cannot remember the name of the store but it is midway up the right side of Main St. It is the only place in Disneyland that will do this.

I have a very, very special request for anyone out there that has a Club 33 membership. Would you be able to share your membership for 1 night for my boyfriend and myself? I am celebrating a special even. On Monday, August 31, my test came back cancer free! My bestfriend, now my boyfriend, has been my sole motivation, inspiration and caregiver. I could never, ever, repay all the amazing support given to me by someone who never let on how very difficult it was to care for someone in my position. We will be at Disneyland on his birthday on Thursday, 9/10, and I would love to treat him to dinner at the infamous Club 33. He is worth it!!!! If your a member and your willing to share please let me know. Thanks so much.
